I, like other sarcastic bloggers, really had hoped for Jeff Fisher to coach the Rams to a 7-9 record for the rest of my life. However, that dream was crushed earlier in the season. John Fassel (who some how looks older than his dad, Jim) was the interim coach for the rest of the season. Yesterday, the Rams hired a new head coach. Sean McVay, the former Washington R-words’ Offensive Coordinator was hired at the ripe age of 30.
Before yesterday, I didn’t really know anything about Sean McVay. I had to look up info about it to find out how a 30 year old gets a NFL head coaching gig. Let alone, how he does it as only his 6th pro coaching gig in his life (5th in NFL). Then I found out that his grandpa used to be GM of the 49ers.
I guess he’s a decent coach. The only thing I really know about him is he some how turned Kirk Cousins into a gazillionaire in 2 seasons. Oh, and he’s crushed my soul. WTF! I went to college to work in sports. 8 years and 3 degrees later I have gotten paid by all of one team and that was to sell tickets. When I turned 30, I was checking IDs at a bar. I’m writing this blog because I want to stay connected to sports. FUCK!
Okay, now that I got that off my chest I feel a little better. I don’t know if he’ll succeed but good for him for just being born into coaching. It’s the Rams; so unless some new QB or an entire new roster and GM is coming with him, they’ll still be terrible. Either way, McVay will be a rich NFL coach and I’ll still be a bitter, poor blogger
