It’s official, this is the worst Playoffs in the history of sports. If you don’t have a rooting interest in a team, or if you don’t gamble on games, there has been only two games that were close the whole way through. One of them was actually entertaining while the other one dragged for most of the game. The Packers-Cowboys game has been the only game that I haven’t zoned out by the 4th quarter. That includes watching the game with my favorite team (the New York Giants) in it.
Green Bay Packers vs Atlanta Falcons
I actually thought this game would be good. That thought quickly got erased once it became obvious that the Packers’ defense couldn’t stop the Falcons at all. Matt Ryan threw the ball all over the field and Julio Jones looked like a grown man playing against little kids. It didn’t help Green Bay that a ton of passes got dropped and they had a player walking off the field injured every 10 minutes. I can’t believe that I’m saying this, but the Atlanta Falcons are legit really good. Not because I hate the Falcons, but just how quickly Dan Quinn has turned this team around.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs New England Patriots
I knew this game was going to be a blowout. I’d been telling people all weekend. I just didn’t think the Steelers defense was going to be able to stop Tom Brady. They were lucky that they played two teams that didn’t have high-powered offenses. The Steelers secondary made Chris Hogan look like Julio Jones. It was quite amazing how far open he was ALL the time. This game wasn’t even close from the start.
I think this could be a good, if not great, Super Bowl. At the bare minimum I hope that it’s watchable the whole way through.
P.S. – I took the over in GB vs ATL and I took NE -6 vs Pitt. Won them both.
