There was lots of talk around a few key NBA stars, but NONE of them got moved at the NBA Trade Deadline. Melo’s staying put. Paul George isn’t going anywhere. Jimmy Butler is still a Bull. The biggest trade had already happened which lead to a pretty mundane Deadline on Thursday.
None of the big stars that were talked about were traded. The NBA is still pretty much a 3-5 team race and that’s bad for the League. I’m not a big NBA guy, but I’m even less so when I can tell you who’s likely to win before the season starts. There’s no other league in which star players can force a buyout only to sign with the Cavs, Warriors, or Spurs. It’s just not as much fun.
There were a couple decent trades as Taj Gibson is heading to Oklahoma City and Nerlens Noel and his persona of “Mr Glass” will be going to Dallas. I’m interested to see where Bogut goes after getting released, but besides this, I’m pretty disappointed in the NBA Trade Deadline.
