Early in the day, it was reported that Brandon Marshall, recently released from the New York Jets, would be joining the New York Giants. At first, I got really excited. Then, I didn’t want to get too far ahead of myself; I also thought about how he has been a bit of a problem at all of his stops (Broncos, Dolphins, Bears, and Jets).
Then I Saw This:
I thought about what a WR core of OBJ, Brandon Marshall, and Sterling Shepard would look like. It then came out that the G-Men were interested in Martellus Bennett. If that comes to fruition, that will be a serious offense to go with a defense that was stellar last season.
Tim Tebow had his first Spring Training game. His first at-bat was a four-pitch strikeout looking against reigning Cy Young winner Rick Porcello. It wasn’t as exciting for me as the Brandon Marshall news, but I did grab my phone and watch his first AB.
I think Tebow is overmatched, which isn’t much of a hot take. I think he’ll plug at it for a bit and maybe make AA. However, this is just nice little distraction during Spring Training to make some practice games fun. If they start unnecessarily moving him up the ranks, then I’ll sing a different tune.
WOW! What a day being a Giants and Mets fan!
