I don’t know how motivated I’m going to keep being, but I’ve got a Fire Stick, and my office is set up and the Sports Tap Podcast has been going pretty well. So, I decided to write something up.
I went out the first Thursday, because it was the first game of the season. I was excited because it was Eagles-Falcons. That game sucked. Not, just kind of sucked, but really sucked. One of the worst games I have ever watched. Decided to stay in, but had the Fire Stick, so got to watch Bengals-Ravens. Root for the Bengals because my dad loves them. Watched the game while we recorded Episode 34, then played some COD: WW2 during the 3rd and watched the 4th because game was close.
This game I expected to just watch while we recorded the podcast, and then I’d play Xbox, follow along on Sports Action App, and then go to bed. Tyrod Taylor was hurt, so Baker Mayfield came in and changed all that. Let’s get it straight, I like Taylor. I think he should’ve been kept by the Bills. How you lead a team to the playoffs for the first time in forever and get booted is beyond me.
However, this is Baker’s team now. Taylor’s going to get a bad rap, but Mayfield owns this team, and now owns this town. There was a different feel when he came in the game in the first half. I missed the early scores, but just watched the go-ahead touchdown. He’s got command of the offense, the team feeds off him, and he plays quickly and confidently. You can’t go back to Taylor now that Baker’s played this well.
I’m a Tyrod fan, but I’m also a Baker fan. You gotta root for a guy that walked on at two different schools and then won the Heisman. He made a couple poor decisions (according to some people), but is a pretty stand up guy. He’s about to get the Browns their first win in forever. Dude’s now a fucking cult hero in Cleveland. Tyrod’s out, and Baker’s in. Unless, you know, the Browns Brown.
P.S. – Wonder if Wade wishes that he took one of the few scholarship offers he had to FAU.
