The son of former NBA player Manute Bol, Bol Bol, is out for the season. He is dealing with a stress fracture in his foot. The Oregon big man was averaging 21 PPG, 9.6 RPG, and 2.7 BPG.
Another famed big man, another guy who’s likely to never live up to the hype due to injuries. I was intrigued by Bol Bol, and not because his dad decided to just double up on his name. He’s not only tall like his dad was, but he also could shoot from long range.
However, like Greg Oden, and countless others before him, Bol Bol could be destined for a future of constant injuries. He’s skinny as a rail, and these type of stress fractures aren’t easy to just bounce back from. I hope he gets better and plays well in NBA, but the track record for this type of injury is not good.
