Above is the link of the weekly NFL Picks podcast that I’ve listened to each week. I haven’t always went with their picks, but I enjoy the podcast. It’s short, sweet, and they do fairly well with their picks.
I’ve done these picks with Swoops Malone on The Sports Tap Podcast – Episode 49. However, I wanted to go a little more in depth in my thinking.
Colts at Texans: HOU -1.5
This is the third match up between these two teams, with the road team winning each meeting by 3 points. However, the Colts just played on Sunday night in Tennessee and now have to come back on a short week and travel to Houston. I think Houston is the better overall team, so I’m going to lay the points and take the Texans. I may also look at Watson’s rushing yard prop.
Seahawks at Cowboys: SEA ML +115
I’m going to be dead honest; this is an emotional pick more than anything else. I cannot stand the Dallas Cowboys and hope they lose. Also, I think these teams are pretty evenly matched. They both have solid defenses and prefer a run-first offense. If you want a smarter reason to take Seattle, I’d take Russel Wilson over Dak Prescott all day. You may want to look at the Under as well.
Chargers at Ravens: Under 41.5
These teams just played a couple weeks ago and it was very low scoring. I know this line is really low, but I think in these playoff games, teams tend to play more conservatively. Also, I think the Chargers will have a better gameplan against Lamar Jackson. If I can get the Chargers at +3, I’ll take them as well.
Eagles at Bears: Under 41
This pick is all about the Bears. I think laying 6.5 points is too much to take Chicago, so I went with the Under. My thinking is that the Bears defense is too good to give up a bunch of points at home, and their offense is not clicking well enough to score much either. As soon as I saw this game, I thought back to the Rams at Bears game from early December. That’s how I see this one playing out.
Thanks for reading. Don’t take my picks as gospel, but I hope they help you decide what picks to make on your own. I’ll be back next week for my Divisional Round picks.
